The Latcham Gallery is committed to nurturing art creation and art appreciation. This exhibition gives young students the opportunity to see their work showcased in a professional setting and provides them with an audience that extends to the whole community. Through this partnership, the Gallery and the schools highlight the relevance and necessity of the art curriculum and the value of art literacy for our students. The talent, creativity, and technique of the artwork displayed in this exhibition as well as the obvious pride of the young artists in seeing their work and the work of friends, demonstrate the importance of this program.
This year’s exhibition includes projects from Ballantrae Public School, Orchard Park Public School, The Progressive Montessori Academy, St. Mark’s Catholic Elementary School, St. Brigid Elementary Catholic School, Stouffville Christian School, Summitview Public School, Whitchurch-Highlands Public, William Berczy Public School and Willow Grove Primary School. From sculptures to drawings, collages to paintings, the artwork covers a huge range of media, technique, imagination, and energy.
