Kristiina Lahde’s art practice is anchored in everyday encounters with familiar objects: objects that are used to organise, order, or measure. Out of subtle repurposing, ordinary things are elevated into objects of contemplation. Through careful and considered alteration and repetition, new meanings arise. What emerges from her artworks is unexpected, magical, and poetic.
In Emergent Geometries straight pins are reimagined as monumental architecture, discarded library catalogue cards become galactic spirals, and knickknacks are transformed into installations that interweave the everyday and the infinite.
