About:

Nutum is a 16-foot-high welded steel sculpture designed to swing freely in the wind.

This work was created by artist Ron Baird, founding director of Latcham Art Centre. Baird is an internationally renowned sculptor known for his imaginative large-scale, site-specific sculpture installations found across Canada and the world.

Other notable works by Baird include Spirit Catcher (now the City of Barrie’s logo); a whirling 150-foot kinetic piece for Environment Canada; works at CFB in Kingston; and a recently installed, award-winning series of pieces dedicated to Ontario’s railway history in Brampton.
