Free All Ages Event

Let your imagination run wild and create an original artwork at kickstART, Latcham Art Centre’s annual youth Paint Challenge! Taking place during National Youth Week, the competition provides an opportunity for youth ages 12 – 16 to unleash their creativity and inspire the community. Featuring all-ages art activities, music, snacks, and amazing prizes to be won!

The winner of each round will have their painting exhibited in Celebrations – Latcham Art Centre’s annual exhibition dedicated to showcasing the talents of students across Whitchurch-Stouffville.

Friends and families are welcome to walk in to the event, no registration required! Paint Challenge participants must register by completing the form below. Participant registration closes on April 28 at 5:00 PM.

kickstART 2024 - Paint Challenge Participant Registration

Latcham Art Centre is looking for artists ages 12 - 16 to compete in a Live Paint Challenge as part of our kickstART event! Participate as an individual or a team of 2 artists. To register to participate, fill out the form below.

How It Works
• Participants will compete in one of three heats either individually or with one team member.
• At the end of each heat's round, spectators will vote on a painting. The artist(s) with the most votes will receive a prize and go on to participate in the final round.
• The winning participants of each round will create another work on canvas in the final round. At the end of the final round, spectators will vote again. The artist(s) of the painting with the most votes will take home the kickstART grand prize!

Notes
• Participants can practice at home and prepare their ideas beforehand, but once the Challenge begins, working from images is not permitted. Participants should prepare two ideas in case they make it to the final round.
• No coaching of participants during the Paint Challenge is permitted. Coaching may lead to disqualification.
• Participants must arrive by 6:30 PM for event guidelines.
• All painting materials will be provided.
• All information on this form must be filled in to be eligible.
• If you are signing up with team member, they do not need to submit a form as well. Please only submit once.
