Summer Position – Summer Camp Counsellor (Job # LAC-2026–001)
Job description
Eligible students must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. A successful vulnerable sector screening and basic First Aid & CPR will be required.
Position Purpose
Latcham Art Centre seeks an outgoing, responsible, creative, and flexible individual to act as art Camp Counsellor. The candidate will be responsible for the set-up of activities, communicating with participants, and assisting the instructor with the delivery of programs. Other responsibilities include preparing materials/projects, cleaning, assisting with research into and delivering children/youth activities.
The ideal candidate has excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills, a positive attitude and eagerness to participate in art and Gallery activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Applicants must demonstrate the desire and the capability to work with children of all ages, have a passion for art and creativity, and a desire to impart this skill to children. Previous, related experience is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and courteously with customers of all ages.
- Self-motivated with a professional attitude.
- Police record check or Vulnerable sector screening is required.
- Candidate is expected to commit to the full contract period.
- Other duties as assigned.
