WHY COME TO LATCHAM ART CENTRE?
The gallery and studio spaces are encouraging, hands-on environments that inspire students with a variety of learning styles to observe, create and explore materials and new techniques. Artist educators lead tours and workshops designed around the current exhibition, making personal connections to students and more broadly to society.

GALLERY TOUR
Our tour/workshop combination runs approximately 2.5 hours long, depending on the school’s schedule. Students will tour the current exhibition to observe and discuss the work and the themes presented. They will work in the studio with an artist educator on a project designed to explore techniques, materials, and themes explored in the featured work. Our combination tour/workshops are designed to support the art curriculum at each level
(Kindergarten – grade 12).
Cost: $10/student – includes all materials. (Minimum 15 students, maximum 40 students)
GALLERY TOUR AND STUDIO WORKSHOP
This 30 to 45-minute program is led by Art Centre staff with experience and passion for educating about art. Staff will discuss materials, the artists’ inspirations and processes, themes presented, and critical thinking strategies when regarding art. The operations of a public art gallery and the people who make it work will also be highlighted. Our tours are designed to support the art curriculum at each level (Kindergarten – grade 12).
Cost: $3.00/student (Minimum 15 students)
