Latcham Art Centre – 2 Park Dr.

In September 2022, facilitators Lara Seixo Rodrigues and Duarte Cavalinhos flew to Toronto from Lisbon, Portugal, to assist Latcham Art Centre in a program called Street Art Seniors of Stouffville (SASS), based on their award-winning international project LATA 65. Designed to engage local seniors in creative placemaking and lifelong learning, the project gave fifteen participants an opportunity to showcase their creativity, learn new skills, and build social connections by transforming a public space with art. One year after its completion, SASS! Street Art Seniors of Stouffville showcases this magical project with documents of the three-day process, including photographs, large-scale mural panels, stencils and a documentary produced by Paradox Pictures.

Latcham Art Centre gratefully acknowledges Schell Lumber Home Building Centre, the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors and Young Canada Works programs, Paradox Pictures, our youth volunteers, the Whitchurch-Stouffville Legacy Fund, Mayor Iain Lovatt and Council, and the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville for their generous support of this exhibition.
